NYS DEC LICENSE CHANGES AS OF AUGUST 1ST, 2024

The DEC has now transitioned to using plain 8.5 x 11 paper for all license's and tags. You will no longer be required to wear back tags. This means you will need to cut your tags and place them in a waterproof bag or sandwich bag as the paper is not going to hold up to the weather. The State does have an APP called HuntFishNY it is available to download and you can store all your copies of your license digitally there. During checkout you will be given the option to have your license emailed to you or printed. Please note the State is in the process of implementing a $1.00 surcharge on all licenses paid directly to the vendor. If you have a lifetime license, it will be mailed to you as normal. With this change the DEC is trying to make it easy to complete these types of transactions at home for your convenience. Please see attached links regarding FAQ and the DEC website where you can apply for your permits. This hunting season is new for me and it will be new to all of you as well. I will do my best to make it as easy of a transition as possible if you so choose to come in for your licensing needs.
