ENHANCED STAR EXEMPTION
Property owners that turn 65 anytime during the calendar year (at least one owner must be turning 65), may apply for the Enhanced Star Exemption (School Tax Relief) on your primary residence, provided you currently have a basic STAR Exemption. You may download both required forms here: RP-425-E and RP-425-IVP or pick them up at the Assessor’s office. The current income limit (subject to change) is $107,300.00. This is the combined 2023 income of all owners and spouses that live on the property.
Application deadline is March 1st.
Remember, if you turn 65 anytime during the calendar year, you may apply.
For example, if you turn 65 on September 1, 2024, you may apply for the Enhanced Star Exemption by March 1, 2024.
SENIOR CITIZEN TAX EXEMPTION
Property owners 65 years of age or older: If your TOTAL GROSS HOUSEHOLD INCOME is $32,200 OR LESS you MAY be eligible for tax exemptions on your primary residence. Application deadline is March 1st with supporting documentation. If your total gross household income is below $32,200 contact the Assessor's Office for an application, as shown below.
